We spent Labor Day at Fremont Lake Campground. It is one of our favorite campgrounds, located near Pinedale in Sublette County, Wyoming.
Access is via a paved road. The sites do not have water, electric or sewer. However, there are water spigots spaced throughout the campground, usually near the vault toilets. There are also no showers or flush toilets. Only vault toilets. These appear to be fairly new, so they are pretty clean and okay to use.
The weather was lovely. It was sunny, with light breezes and a few gusts to 12mph. The only downer was the persistent haze from the wildfires in Oregon and Idaho.
This campground is situated on the eastern shore of Fremont Lake. The shoreline is pretty steep, so even if you have a “waterfront” site, access to the lake may be difficult.
It appeared to us that lake access is easier the farther in you are in the campground.
However, there is a boat ramp, with ample parking. In addition, there is a day use area, where you can launch kayaks.
There are **** sites. About half are reservable, and the rest are first come first serve. We came in on Labor Day itself, and there were quite a few open sites.
